Surprise Billing Protection Policy

At PP Family Therapists Inc., we value transparency and want to ensure you understand your rights and protections regarding billing. Below, you’ll find important information about surprise billing and our pricing structure.

What is Surprise Billing?

Surprise billing happens when you receive services from a provider or facility that is not in your health insurance network. This often leads to higher costs because the provider or facility doesn’t have a contract with your insurance company.

Federal law protects you from certain surprise medical bills:

  • When you receive emergency care from out-of-network providers or facilities.

  • When you are unknowingly treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network facility.

Your Options

  • If You Choose Our Services as Out-of-Network:

    • You may owe the full cost of services provided.

    • Your health plan might not count your payments toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.

  • If You Want In-Network Providers:

    • You may contact your health plan to find in-network providers, which may cost less.

    • If no in-network provider is available, your health plan might negotiate an agreement with us or another provider.
